Chinzer: 6 Duets, opus 1 (2 cellos)
Instruments: two cellos
Catalogue no.: D1993-8

Ideal for cellists wanting to play music with another cellist, these six short duet sonatas (also suitable for two bassoons) are very pleasant, and will present no technical problems to most players. They are by Giuseppe Chinzer who was active in Paris in the 1740s. He should not be confused with Giovanni Chinzer who was a trumpeter, impresario and composer active in Paris at about the same time. These duets were originally published by the House of Madame Boivin in Paris in 1745 as Chinzer's (spelled Chinxer) Opus 1. Both parts are written on the same sheet of music, one above the other.
